Bend The Knee - Men's Wear Collection

Fashion history tells those who seek it so much information about people and the way they lived. Fashion has always had roots in a conversation of class, due to it being a luxury and somewhat lavish expense all the way up until the industrial revolution. This collection is the first in a series of collections that will use one silhouette to explore how clothes change and silhouettes develop. Using the historical reference of drop fours and tracing their purpose and journey from the medieval to the present, and then presenting in this collection where I see that silhouette going. As well as being intentional when speaking about who invented and popularized certain versions of this trouser gathered around the knee for ease of movement, and how does that story of working man to royalty change the ways in which this silhouette but more broadly fashion develops throughout time and we as an audience feel about it.
